Today we have an exciting announcement for you: JIA Matters is going to be joining forces with CCAA! We have chosen today to share this news because today is WORD day (WOrld young Rheumatic Disease day) – the first ever global day to raise awareness of childhood rheumatic disease and we strongly believe that our incorporation will bring better support for all children with rheumatic disease across England and Wales.
Please rest assured that your local JIA Matters group will continue just as it is and your local area reps and I will still be working hard to help you make local links and to keep you in the loop about what is happening for families in your area. However, together with CCAA, we hope to be able to bring more exciting events closer to where you live and to make it even easier to share your journey with others in the same situation.
For those who don’t know, CCAA are a charity set up by a JIA parent 30 years ago and they offer support, education and two residential family weekends every year. Their aims align nicely with those of our JIA Matters groups and we feel that coming together is a perfect fit for us both – we have many exciting plans together for later in the year so watch this space!
For more info on CCAA feel free to check out the website and please do give us both a follow on Twitter/Instagram!
Warmest wishes to you all,
Emily Earle (JIA Matters Network Coordinator) and Carl Wescott (Chair of CCAA)
